"James Ensor monument", located north of the flower clock, at the northeast entrance to the park. Dates from 1930 to the design of Brussels sculptor Edmond de Valeriola (1877-1956), an artist known for his realistic-style portrait busts and genre pieces.
Pedestal in Art Deco style, depicting in high relief the main themes in Ensor's paintings: skulls, masks, painter's easel and palette. Below it the artist's motto : "PRO LUCE NOBILIS SUM"; at the bottom, on the base, image of a mermaid. Bust in realistic style.
